The Drake House is located in the burgeoning Millwork District in Dubuque, Iowa. We are within walking distance to many local attractions-breweries, eateries, shopping and so much more. A short drive can land you at the Mississippi River, golf courses, ski slopes, Galena, hiking trails, etc. The Drake House is also right above our coffee house, Charlotte’s Coffee House, making a hot cup of coffee a few steps from your door.

Beyond our location and local amenities, the Drake House offers something more unique than a typical hotel. Our units are fully furnished “apartment” styled places to stay. Each unit has two full bathrooms, a private hot tub, a fully functional kitchen, a gas fireplace, upscale finishes and more.

We are ready to help you at any time, day or night, while you stay with the Drake House but we give you the space to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy your stay.

About The Owners
We are native Dubuquers and came up with this idea of a coffee shop/vacation rental combination after staying at a cozy vacation rental in La Jolla, CA. It sat on top of a small restaurant that served breakfast and lunch. After we returned, Don spotted this property and approached me with the idea, stating that if I wasn't 100% “in”, he would just forget about it. Needless to say, I was 100% "in". And here we are, years and lots of construction later, ready to share our dream with you through the Drake House & Charlotte’s Coffee House! We hope you will love it as much as we do!
It all started with our Drake House Properties: The City View, The Loft,
and Fleur De Lis. Since then, we have expanded to property management for vacation rentals in the area, these units are kept to the same standard and quality as our original units.
Our Team
Jenn has been with us since 2016 as one of our first hires cleaning units and has worked her way up to General manager of the Drake House and its affiliates. She is a mother of four and is married to her husband Caleb who also works as our on staff hot tub technician, as well as generally getting roped into more things than he would like. Jenn has become a crucial part of the team and if you ever message anything to Drake House as a guest or otherwise, its most likely Jenn you're talking to!
